Why am I qualified for this? First and foremost, I’ve walked in these same shoes. Most of my career has been spent as a Software Engineer and I absolutely loved it! I enjoyed the analysis, creating the solutions, the problem resolution. For the first fifteen years of my technology career, I opted to stay in the background and pass my advice along to my managers when it came to speaking with upper management.
As I moved into a Subject Matter Expert role, I realized I needed to communicate at higher levels within our organization. I also found my explanations were so lofty that no one asked questions after presenting my thoroughly researched information. I soon realized I did not know how to properly translate my technical knowledge into language that was appropriate for my business partners.
As you can see, I know where you are. I also know the resistance to change but technology today requires a more collaborative approach with business partners, thus the need to improve communication skills.
I am here to help through training, workshops and 1-1 coaching. Contact me using the form with any questions you may have about my service offerings.
